TEAM PROFILE

Andrew Green

CEO

"We all have the superpower of kindness. Be kind, and you can turn someone's bad day into a good one."
Andrew Green is a highly respected leader in further education, known for his authenticity, warmth, and unwavering belief in the power of learning to change lives. His leadership philosophy is built on integrity, empathy, and the belief that kindness is a superpower - values that underpin both his role as CEO of Chichester College Group and his work with Authentic Leadership Coaching.

Educational Journey

After graduating from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Chemistry, Andrew began his career in retail management, completing the House of Fraser graduate programme before moving to Boots. A desire to make a deeper difference led him to retrain as a teacher in 1996, gaining a Master's in Education in 2000 - the start of a 26-year career in education that has seen him become one of the most influential leaders in the sector.

Leadership in Further Education

Andrew held a range of senior positions at City College Brighton and Hove before joining Chichester College in 2010 as Deputy Principal, responsible for teaching, learning, curriculum and quality. Under his leadership, the college achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating in 2014 - only the sixth college in the country to do so. In 2017, he became Executive Principal following the merger with Crawley College and, in 2021, Chief Executive of the Chichester College Group. In 2020, under his guidance, the group achieved outstanding in all areas - the largest college group in the country to do so.

Leadership Philosophy

Andrew's leadership has always been rooted in authenticity and purpose. He believes that when people feel valued, trusted, and inspired, they can achieve extraordinary things. His leadership journey is defined by creating emotionally intelligent organisations that empower both learners and staff to thrive.

Beyond Education

Beyond his work in education, Andrew has a track record of entrepreneurial success - as former Chief Executive of Brighton Film School, cofounder of a retail business, and director of a property company. He also serves as a trustee for two charities: Culture Shift, which uses the arts to support young people and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, and PACSO, which provides respite care for families of children with additional needs.

Coaching & Consultancy

Through authentic leadership coaching, Andrew offers one-to-one coaching and consultancy for new and emerging leaders across education, public services, and the charity sector. He helps others to lead with confidence, compassion, and courage - encouraging them to see kindness not as a soft skill, but as a force for transformation.
